The Great Shedding
You may or may not know that 2/2025-2/2026 (lunar year) was a snake year in eastern astrology. What does a snake do? It sheds because it has outgrown its old skin. In order to become more of its present and future self, it must shed off the old that constricts the new growth. As with all astrology, this theme is ancient and well-practiced for centuries; it’s not just some fun they dreamed up by staring at the sky. It is intuitive channeling reinforced by the collective conscious.
Think back over the last year. How has your life changed? Did you let go of any old beliefs, jobs, relationships, partnerships, or habits? I sure did. I let go of countless thought patterns blocking my growth, relationships, belief systems, people pleasing, and a career. These things had to end to make space for people, places, institutions, vocations, and opportunities that are more aligned with who I have grown to become. A guy I’m quite proud of, I must say!
If you haven’t gone through ANY change, how happy are you with your life? Do you feel like you don’t belong where you are? Do you feel like you woke up on the wrong planet one day? Are you hard on yourself because things that made you happy before no longer carry that same weight? The truth is, like the snake, we were never meant to remain small. We were meant to grow. I would encourage you to spend some time thinking about your growth in the last year. I bet there is a lot more than which you give yourself credit.
This one is especially potent because of so many other major transits going on. We are not just going through a personal shedding, but a collective shedding as well. “As within, so without.” Those waking up are starting to question and stand up for the change they demand to see: stop the genocide, free Palestine, no kings, end colonialism, equality now, F ICE, no justice no peace. We are starting to see that we’ve been distracted and manipulated by those who cling to power and wealth. I offer some hope: what we have on our side is LOVE. Pure, divine, beautiful LOVE. If something is not rooted in LOVE, it is a lie. The lie that others tell us, the lie we are programmed to tell ourselves, the lie we can stop if we stand up and SHED THIS SH!T OFF! Now is our time, snakes. Shed it off, hop on and hang on tight because we are entering the Year of the Fire Horse. We are so grateful that we are opening ourselves up to this energy and willingly working with it.
